Chapel Field School was founded by the Spanjer Family in 1986. It is thoroughly Christian. Graduates have gone to, and graduated from, the best colleges and universities in America. Located on a 100 acre campus nestled in the rolling hills of the Hudson Valley in New York State, we are in the heart of the world’s top academic and cultural establishments, one hour from New York City, near Harvard, Yale, and Princeton Universities, and the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Because Chapel Field has graduated many international students that have gone on to prestigious universities, the school has formed its JAY-ICE program (Join American Youth In Classic Education.) We offer three programs: a summer three week session during July and August; a semester (five month) full credit academic program; or a year long full credit academic program, to which students may return until graduation.
Whichever program you choose, your student will go to classes with American students and study literature, history, math, science, art, and music. International students are immersed in English and in the American culture through visits to New York City and many other local attractions. They will receive high school credit for their studies, many souvenirs, and a certificate at a closing program. Students completing high school receive a New York State Regents and a college prep diploma.
Housing is provided in homes of our generous American families and in Chapel Field’s Residence Hall on our Walden Campus. Bonding experiences with the home-stay families are not only essential to the American immersion experience, but it makes the students’ overall stay in America one of both learning and love.
