Programs at Chapel Field
Art Program
Our Art program is an integral part of the academic curriculum at Chapel Field, offering students a rich and challenging studio experience rooted in skill, discipline, and a love of beauty. Students learn to draw, paint, and work with traditional media while developing habits of careful observation and excellence in craftsmanship.
Elementary students receive regular art instruction that builds strong foundations in technique and artistic principles, while also nurturing an early love for creativity and artistic beauty. In middle and high school, students take on more advanced studio work, study the great works from art history, and receive thoughtful critique that helps them grow both in skill and character. Student artwork is displayed on campus throughout the year and often highlighted at school-wide events.

Music Program
Under the guidance of Eric Parks, our Choral and Band Director, our music program has achieved great success. Our Christmas and spring concerts are two of the most highly anticipated events on our calendar. Our choral program is included from Pre K through High School, while select men’s and women’s ensembles, concert band, and jazz band are offered to to middle school and high school.
Mr. Eric Parks, Music Director
Mr. Eric Parks is a Sergeant Major retired after having served as lead trumpet and soloist with the Jazz Knights Big Band, a component of the West Point Band, for 20 years. For 35 years, Eric was the soloist and lead trumpet with the internationally acclaimed Jimmy Sturr Orchestra which has received 18 Grammy awards.
Since joining the Chapel Field Family, Mr. Parks has encouraged and driven our students to excellence not only in the musical skills they have acquired, but also in their attitudes and spiritual lives.
Nature Journaling
Our Elementary nature exploration program is designed to encourage our younger students' wonder and curiosity for the beauty of God's creation, while developing their observation, writing, and drawing skills. Guided by our kindhearted faculty, students are led around our 100 acre campus and prompted to explore the natural scenery that surrounds them. Throughout the year, elementary students continue to add to their nature journals, giving them the opportunity to collect a year’s worth (and 4 seasons’ worth) of creative documentation of their observations in nature.
